Legend of the Mer - Sheri L. Swift

Christian YA Fiction/Fantasy ~ Lana Prentis is 17 years old and lives on Safe Harbor Island. Her father (Cole) is the lighthouse keeper and also the keeper of many secrets. He told Lana that her mother drowned when Lana was only 3 and he never allows her in the water. Only after her PE Teacher (Miss Rose Perry) secretly gives Lana swimming lessons does Lana discover who she is and who her mother was as well. She finds out that she does have a purpose to her life and that she has a heritage as rich and as deep as the sea and that her future lies beneath it.

Sheri L. Swift is a wife, mother of five daughters (One adopted from her Church family), five sons-in-love and grandmother of eight. She considers herself to be an inspirational writer and also enjoys writing poetry. She leads the Prayer Ministry for her Church (Blue Ridge Fellowship) which is a Purpose Driven Church.

Q: What will readers like about your book?

It takes you on a mental vacation! I think it is educational and fun. It has a bit of mystery and sunken treasure. You will follow Lana as she travels from the North Atlantic to the South Pacific and learns about the ocean and her extended family that lives there.

Q: Why did you self publish?

I did try the traditional publishing route only to be told that because I was a first-time author I would need to *partner* with them and pay to have my book published. I then decided to self publish with an ebook and later also a print version.

Q: Who are your favorite authors in your genre?

I love J. R. R. Tolkien, C. S. Lewis, Stephen R. Lawhead, Gilbert Morris, Karen Hancock and Kathleen Morgan; to name a few.
